Vol. 566 No. 5

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

116 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons braces were not fitted in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the reason the parents were informed that the process was almost like a lottery and that ten cases out of 100 go through; if the case will be reconsidered; if the braces will be fitted as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13325/03]

Responsibility for the provision of orthodontic services to eligible persons in County Kilkenny rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
