The person named is an applicant under the farm waste management scheme. The application is currently being processed and, if everything is found to be in order, payment will issue in due course.

The person named has received all his REPS payments to date. His next payment in the scheme, for which he must apply, falls due after his anniversary date of 1 July 2003.

Ceist:176 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the progress made on the REP scheme appeal of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13430/03]
A REPS compliance inspection by my Department on 3 March 2003 resulted in the notification of a 10% penalty to the person named. The penalty was appealed to my Department's local office but this appeal was not successful. The person concerned was notified of the outcome of his local appeal on 27 March 2003 and also informed of his right to a further appeal to the agriculture appeals office.

The application from the person named for her annual REPS payment was received in my Department on 25 February. The processing times is within the targets set down in the Protocol on Direct Payments to Farmers which sets a target of ten weeks for the processing of annual payment applications in REPS and a further month for the issue of payment.
