The visa application to which the Deputy refers was in respect of a non-EEA national who applied to work in the State under the work permit scheme. The visa application in question was refused as the original of the work permit was not submitted with the visa application. In addition, my Department was unable to contact the employer in question at the telephone number stated on the visa application form. The directory enquiries service was unable to find a telephone number listed in relation to the employer's name and address supplied on the visa application.
It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department. In this regard, the immigration division, which includes the visa office, is located at 13-14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2. The person concerned should submit the original of his work permit with any appeal.
