251 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science the names of all colleges approved by him for the purpose of tax relief on tuition fees; the annual cost of this relief to the Exchequer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14503/03]
I will arrange for my Department to forward the relevant lists of courses eligible for tax relief under section 473A of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 in respect of the 2002-03 academic year to the Deputy.
The number of claimants and approximate cost to the exchequer from 1996-97 to 1999-2000 of tax relief on fees chargeable in respect of tuition is detailed in the table which has been provided to my Department by the Office of the Revenue Commissioners.
