272 Mr. Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if finance will be provided for replanting for forestry which has been destroyed by fire in east Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14546/03]
A total of approximately €7 million has been spent under the current national development programme to the end of 2002 on the forest service reconstitution scheme, which was established to grant aid, inter alia, plantations damaged by fire. However, it was not possible to meet all requests for funding this year due to the current budgetary constraints. The financial allocation for this scheme for next year will be determined following the annual Estimates process, which will take place over the coming months.
