210 Mr. Cregan asked the Minister for Finance the position regarding a re-examination of the disabled drivers and passengers scheme particularly from the perspective of the visually impaired; the current position in this regard; the position regarding the previously promised review; and if he will make a statement on the timetable for change. As I indicated in replies to previous questions on this issue, an interdepartmental group was established to review the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' scheme. The group examined all aspects of the scheme including qualifying medical criteria.
I have received the report of the interdepartmental review group on the scheme and it is being considered. Any recommendations contained in this report in relation to the medical criteria and other conditions of the scheme will receive full consideration.
