Vol. 568 No. 5

Written Answers. - General Practitioner Services.

John Curran

Ceist:

368 Mr. Curran asked the Minister for Health and Children the details of the recently announced extension of the DubDoc service in Lucan to give 24 hour emergency cover; the doctors who will operate the scheme; and if all arrangements are in place to provide this service. [16935/03]

DubDoc provides out of hours general practitioner services for patients, both GMS and private, of the participating doctors. An additional amount of €0.467 million was allocated to the Eastern Regional Health Authority to enable it expand its DubDoc service from its present limited hours of operation to a full out-of-hours service. As statutory responsibility for the operation of this service rests with the ERHA, I have asked the chief executive officer of the authority to write to the Deputy regarding the specific issues raised by him.
