Written Answers. - Nuclear Safety.

Emmet Stagg

Ceist:

139 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the response he has received from the British authorities to his request to allow Irish experts to inspect the Sellafield nuclear plant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16528/03]

The possible inspection of the Sellafield nuclear plant by Irish experts, which is under consideration at present, was raised at a meeting between the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Deputy Cullen, and the then UK Energy Minister, Mr. Brian Wilson, MP, in Dublin on 28 May 2003. There are no further developments in this matter as yet.
