Seymour Crawford
Ceist:150 Mr. Crawford asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of people who have been involved in community employment schemes for each of the past five years; the number who are employed at this point in time; the additional cost of having a person employed on a community employment scheme as compared to a payment from the Department of Social and Family Affairs; her views on the fact that some people on community employment schemes, especially those over 50 years of age, may not have the opportunity to obtain full-time employment and yet can give valuable service to community groups, disabled and others; the number she expects to be on com munity employment at the end of 2003 if present trends continue; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
