The number of freedom of information requests received by my Department, and its predecessor, the Department of Public Enterprise during each month from January 2002 to June 2003 is listed as follows.

It is appropriate to make direct comparisons between the monthly number of FOI requests received prior to June 2002 and those received since the new Department of Transport was established in mid June 2002 as, with the exception of the public transport policy area, different sets of responsibilities apply.
