1191 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo for Irish citizenship will be approved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20612/03]
An application from the person referred to by the Deputy as received in the citizenship section of my Department on 25 September 1998.
A letter requesting further documentation from the applicant's solicitor was issued in June 1999 and went unanswered. Three subsequent letters were sent and the documentation was eventually received in April 2003.
Further processing is now taking place and as soon as I have reached a decision on the matter both the applicant and the Deputy will be informed.
