The Garda authorities inform me that Fairview Park is monitored by Garda personnel from the Clontarf sub-district. These include regular uniformed units, local community gardaí, the divisional crime task force and the divisional traffic unit. Plain clothes units also patrol the Fairview Park area. Specific plans are put in place by the Garda authorities as the need arises. Examples include drug unit operations and, in particular, Operation Assist where local Garda units are deployed in conjunction with Garda aerial support, dog and mounted units in order to provide high-visibility policing in areas where anti-social and crime-related problems are prevalent. I understand that no serious incidents of anti-social behaviour or public order problems in Fairview Park have been reported recently to the local gardaí.
