Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Planning Applications.

Paul McGrath

Ceist:

1307 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the number of one-off planning applications, that is, a single house in a rural area with an individual septic tank or treatment plan, granted by each local planning authority in 2002 and to express this as a percentage of the total number of successful planning applications in each authority. [20988/03]

According to statistics published by the Central Statistics Office, planning permissions were granted in 2002 for 51,055 new houses and apartments. Statistics are not available on the number of one-off planning applications as referred to in the question, nor has my Department computed an estimate in relation to the position in 2002.
