213 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the 2003 ewe premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway given that this person suffered a personal injury and was unable to farm leaving him with no alternative but to sell his animals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A medical certificate in support of the claim from the person named that he should be paid ewe premium on force majeure ground due to an injury he received on 11 January last, was only received in the local office on 26 September. The case is now being examined in the light of this and a decision will be conveyed to the person named as soon as possible.

The application for payment in this case was received in my Department on 18 July 2003 and payment issued on 29 September.
215 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when area aid will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [21366/03]
The 2003 area aid application of the person named has been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 27.65 hectares. Payment of his full entitlement under the 2003 area based compensatory allowance scheme will issue shortly.
216 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will now pay area based payment to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim; and if he will give a reason for the delay. [21368/03]
A difficulty has arisen on the 2003 area aid application of the person named in relation to forestry parcels. I have arranged for a ground inspection to be carried out as a matter of urgency with a view to resolving this matter. Until this matter is resolved no area aid payments can issue.
