I have no function in the matter raised by the Deputy. Licensing of electronic communications networks and services is a regulatory matter for the Commission for Communications Regulation, in accordance with the provisions of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Net works and Services) (Authorisation) Regulations 2003 – SI 306 of 2003. In accordance with the provisions of the Communications Regulation Act 2002, the commission is independent in the exercise of its functions.
