The national lottery-funded sports capital programme, which is administered by my Department, allocates funding to sporting and community organisations at local, regional and national level throughout the country.
163 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the reason Granagh United FC, County Limerick was ineligible for a grant under the sport and recreation grants for 2003. [23486/03]
I wish to inform the Deputy that Granagh United FC applied for and was provisionally allocated a grant of €25,000 under the 2003 sports capital programme towards the construction of dressing rooms, showers and toilets. My Department wrote to the club on 30 July confirming the provisional allocation and outlining the procedures and requirements to be met, leading to the eventual drawdown of the grant allocated.
