685 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government further to Parliamentary Question No. 375 of 21 October, the estimated cost to each local authority of implementing agreed benchmarking payments for 2003 and 2004. [25292/03]

Details of benchmarking costs to local authorities are not available in my Department. The overall cost of benchmarking to the local authority sector is estimated by my Department at some €60 million in 2003 and a further €85 million in 2004.
