197 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the current milk price war will have a negative impact on milk suppliers; the plans he has to assist in the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25674/03]
My Department does not have a function in the setting of milk prices at producer or retail level. The setting of such prices is a commercial matter and any issues arising in relation to milk prices at retail level are a matter for the Office of Consumer Affairs and the Competition Authority.
