Vol. 574 No. 3

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

132 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Finance if he will publish the interdepartmental review on the disabled drivers and disabled passengers tax concession scheme; the recommendations outlined in the report; if he has satisfied himself that the current scheme does not contravene equality legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26967/03]

As I have said in a reply to a previous parliamentary question, the interdepartmental report of the review group on the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers (tax concessions) scheme is under consideration in my Department. Any recommendations contained in this report will be examined. The report is a substantive one and needs to be studied carefully. On completion of this process, I envisage that the report will be made available publicly. I am not aware that the scheme has been found to be in contravention of equality legislation.
