Vol. 574 No. 3

Written Answers. - US Visa and Immigration Regulations.

Billy Timmins

Ceist:

61 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has had ongoing contact with the authorities in the United States with regard to new visa and immigration regulations. [26814/03]

The Irish Embassy in Washington DC is in ongoing contact with the US authorities across the full range of our interests, including any changes to US immigration and visa regulation.

A number of changes to the US immigration rules have been initiated by the new US Department of Homeland Security. These include the new national security entry exit registration system, NSEER, the student exchange visitors information system, SERVIS, and the US visit programme.

I assure the Deputy that the Irish Embassy in Washington monitors these changes on an ongoing basis, especially those developments that might have an impact on Irish citizens travelling to or residing in the US.
