Vol. 575 No. 3

Written Answers. - Vaccination Programme.

Olivia Mitchell

Ceist:

235 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has satisfied himself that the backlog of vaccinations following the public health doctors dispute has been eliminated; if he has further satisfied himself that there are adequate recall facilities in place; and if he has further satisfied himself that no children have slipped through the net. [28169/03]

Operational responsibility for the provision of childhood vaccines under the school booster programme rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the regional health boards. Initial immunisation for children is provided by general practitioners to those under two years of age. My Department has asked the chief executive officers of the authority and health boards to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and I will reply to her directly when the information is to hand.
