Ceist:116 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will now provide school transport for persons (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [28595/03]
Written Answers. - School Transport.
Bus Éireann has advised my Department that there is no service to the school concerned on which the family can be facilitated. It is not, therefore, open to my Department to provide school transport to the family in question. My Department sanctioned a scheme D grant with effect from September 2000 towards the cost of private transport arrangements from the family's home to the school. Scheme D grants are payable to eligible Church of Ireland families residing outside the range of transport services to their nearest appropriate school.
