An Leas-Cheann Comhairle

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Moloney – the need to make community use of the former prison officer houses in Beladd Park, Portlaoise, County Laois; (2) Deputy Durkan – the ongoing issue of the disablement payment in the case of a person (details supplied); (3) Deputy Deenihan – the urgent need to acquire a site to provide a new Garda station at Castleisland, County Kerry; (4) Deputy Gogarty – the need to reverse community employment scheme and jobs initiative cutbacks nationwide, but particularly in south-west and north Clondalkin to prevent social breakdown and ultimately save the State money in crime prevention; (5) Deputy Ellis – the proposed withdrawal of fire fighting services from Ballinamore fire station, County Leitrim; and (6) Deputy Costello – the need for the Irish Prison Service and the Prison Officers Association to employ the existing industrial relations machinery to assist in resolving the present industrial relations dispute.

The matters raised by Deputies Deenihan, Costello, Ellis and Durkan have been selected for discussion.
