Vol. 575 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Collection.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

112 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance when he expects the Revenue Commissioners to be in a position to regularise outstanding income tax queries in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28764/03]

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer has filed income tax returns in respect of the years 1994-1995 to 1999-2000, inclusive. However, income tax returns are outstanding for the years 2000-01, 2001 and 2002. Although preliminary tax payments have been made in respect of the years 2000-01 and 2001, it is not possible to regularise the taxpayer's affairs until any income tax liability for the three years in question has been determined. This can only happen when the relevant returns are submitted.

I am further advised that the taxpayer's income tax affairs are dealt with in the Kildare, Meath and Wicklow Customer Services District, Grattan House, Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2, Telephone No. 01 647400, extensions 44432, 44470 or 44457.
