The position remains that consideration of the Cork School of Music PPP project will be based on a thorough assessment of affordability of the project in the context of the competing demands on the capital funding envelopes and taking into account the issues surrounding the general Government balance.
Temporary accommodation for the Cork School of Music has been leased by the Cork Institute of Technology since July 2001. The lease was recently extended until 28 February 2004 and the lease agreement also provides options whereby the institute may extend the lease until 31 August 2005 at the same rent. A final decision on the project is expected shortly.
