297 Mr. Cuffe asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources when he will announce his intentions for management of the independent radio sector assuming that another Broadcasting Commission of Ireland board is to be appointed. [29653/03]
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has statutory responsibility for licensing local radio services in Ireland.
The Government approved the appointment of a new Broadcasting Commission of Ireland on 2 December 2003. The membership of the new commission is: Conor J. Maguire, chairperson; John Waters; Mary Davis; Angela Kerins; Kay McGuinness; Tom Collins; Vivienne Jupp; John O'Brennan; Mary Kerrigan; Joe Griffin.
