353 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the health board and State capital contribution to the building and outfitting of Donegal Hospice; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30003/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 351 to 353, inclusive, together.

The administration of palliative care services in Donegal rests with the North-Western Health Board. My Department has requested a report from the board. It anticipates a contribution of approximately €800,000 to the operational running costs of Donegal Hospice in 2003. No revenue funding was allocated in 2001 and 2002 as the residential unit was opened in February 2003.

Home care services are provided in Donegal by two home care nurses directly employed by the board. Two home care nurses are employed by the Foyle Hospice and part funded by the board. The Donegal Hospice residential unit received the following grant aid in respect of its capital developments costs: €190,460 in 2000, €571,382 in 2001 and €317,434 in 2002.
