Vol. 576 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Billy Timmins

Ceist:

435 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the number of personnel employed by his Department; the breakdown by county and number of the locations of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30183/03]

The number of personnel employed by my Department is 2,266 of which 904 are industrial staff. This overall figure includes a substantial number of staff dealing with operational aspects of the built heritage, including visitor facilities. These functions, and the staff associated with them, are due shortly to transfer to the Office of Public Works.

Having regard to this the following table sets out the present position.
