209 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the total acreage under forestry in the ownership of Coillte Teoranta and other ownership; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31644/03]

The national forest estate at end 2002 was 680,330 hectares. Ownership is broken down as follows: Coillte Teoranta owns 382,326 hectares, Dúchas and other publicly owned forestry amounts to 15,034 hectares and privately owned forestry to 282,970 hectares.
