287 Mr. Morgan asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the EU environmental directives which have been implemented here but not in the Six Counties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31532/03]
There are only two EU directives overdue for transposition for which my Department is responsible: Directive 2001/81/EC on national emission ceilings for certain pollutants and Directive 2002/3/EC on ozone in ambient air. Work on transposing these and other directives for which the transposition deadline has not passed is ongoing.
My Department is not competent for the implementation of EU environmental directives in Northern Ireland.
