Ceist:306 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if her Department owns the former social welfare office on Thomas Street; and if so, the plans her Department has for the premises as it is now vacant. [31468/03]

The Deputy's question refers to my Department's former local office on Werburgh Street, Dublin 8, and not Thomas Street. My Department vacated the Werburgh Street building in February 2002 to move to a new local office at Bishop Square, Redmonds Hill, Dublin 2. My Department did not own this property. It was handed back to the Office of Public Works when vacated. The issue of its future use is a matter for that office.
