Dan Neville

Ceist:

75 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the meetings he will have during the EU Presidency in 2004; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31378/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 48 and 75 together.

As I have previously advised the House, I will be responsible for a wide range of EU Presidency business across the sectoral policy areas of telecommunications, energy, broadcasting, fisheries, maritime transport and maritime safety. I will have commensurate chairing responsibilities for the Agriculture and Fisheries, Transport, Energy and Telecommunications and Education, Youth and Culture Council formations. There will be a number of meetings in Ireland, both ministerial and non-ministerial, during the forthcoming Presidency. Details of these are being finalised. Presidency priorities across our sectoral policy areas are being finalised as part of the Irish Presidency programme.
