Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 29A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Mary Butler - the financial situation of St. Carthage's rest home, Lismore, County Waterford; (2) Deputy John McGuinness - the farm inspection practices of vets and officials; (3) Deputy Michael Collins - the provision of an Alzheimer's respite service in west Cork; (4) Deputies Jonathan O'Brien, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire and Anne Rabbitte - the audit of emergency removal of children from their families by gardaí; (5) Deputy Thomas Pringle - the staff recruitment process for Seaview respite home, County Donegal; (6) Deputy John Brassil - the qualification criteria for the tenant purchase scheme; (7) Deputy Bobby Aylward - the closure of the Camphill Community, Callan, County Kilkenny; (8) Deputy Joan Burton - the proposals for a link road between the N3 and N4, Lucan to Leixlip; (9) Deputy Frank O'Rourke - Garda resources in north Kildare; (10) Deputies Clare Daly and Mick Wallace - the reopening of the Irish Embassy in Iran; (11) Deputy Martin Heydon - special needs school places in Newbridge and the greater south Kildare area; (12) Deputy Eoin Ó Broin - the decision on the location of the Money Advice & Budgeting Service; (13) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the suspension of needs assessments for children with disabilities; (14) Deputy Michael McGrath - the outstanding claims associated with the collapse of Setanta Insurance; (15) Deputy Gino Kenny - the lack of clinical expertise in myalgic encephalomyelitis, ME; (16) Deputy Dessie Ellis - the provision of a direct bus link between Boombridge, Cabra and Finglas; (17) Deputy Joan Collins - the closure of beds at the Linn Dara mental health service for children and adolescents; (18) Deputy Fiona O'Loughlin - the reduction in Kilcullen bus services; (19) Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan - EU funding to Libya to tackle the migration issue; (20) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin - the lack of neurorehabilitation services available for MS patients here; (21) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - the proposed increases in local property tax; (22) Deputy Catherine Murphy - the proposed sale of shares in AIB; (23) Deputy Thomas Byrne - the upgrading of the N2 from Kilmoon to Ashbourne in County Meath; and (24) Deputy Margaret Murphy O'Mahony - Wild Atlantic Way tourism advertising for west Cork.

The matters raised by Deputies John McGuinness, Jonathan O'Brien, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire, Anne Rabbitte, Joan Burton and Mattie McGrath have been selected for discussion.
