Ábhair Shaincheisteanna Tráthúla - Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case:

Deputy Neasa Hourigan – To discuss the role of Teagasc in the publication of the Dublin Declaration of Scientists on the Societal Role of Livestock.

Deputy Martin Kenny – To discuss the requirement for a new school campus for Scoil Mhuire, Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim.

Deputy Colm Burke – To discuss proposed changes whereby general medical practitioners will not be permitted to have income assessed and taxed as part of a partnership.

Deputy Pat Buckley – To discuss contingency plans to address the recent flooding in east Cork and steps to adequately protect the area in future.

Deputy Barry Cowen – To discuss the need to reinstate the proposed new N52 route linking the N4 at Kilbeggan to the Tullamore bypass in the Transport Infrastructure Ireland roads programme.

Deputy Chris Andrews – To discuss Dublin City Council's failure to tackle the alleged build-up of algae along the shoreline.

Deputy Darren O'Rourke – To discuss the need to include heavy vehicle or bus mechanics on the critical skills list.

Deputy Bernard Durkan – To discuss the increasingly aggressive manner in which lending agencies are pursuing borrowers in respect of impaired loans and mortgages.

The matters raised by Deputies Barry Cowen, Colm Burke, Neasa Hourigan and Darren O'Rourke have been selected for discussion.
