The joint committee considered correspondence from Ms Clara Leahy on her proposal to make a presentation on her concerns about a mast in Glenbeigh, County Kerry. We discussed the matter in private session but, unfortunately, it was not possible to agree a structure for the presentation in the short timeframe involved. This is a disappointment for all concerned. I have discussed the matter with the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Communications, Marine and Natural Resources who believes the issue is more appropriate to the remit of that committee. It has been agreed to facilitate the group from County Kerry in making a presentation to either the Joint Committee on Communications, Marine and Natural Resources or this committee, depending on the outcome of discussions that will take place. I envisage that the group will be able to make a presentation to one of the joint committees, provided agreement can be reached on a structure for the meeting, which should not be a problem.
