Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals.

The adopted measures are as follows: COM (2009) 35. It is proposed to note this. Is that agreed? Agreed. COM (2009) 38 has been adopted by a single reading in the European Parliament. It is proposed to note it. Is that agreed? Agreed. COM (2009) 72 (final) has been adopted and is technical in nature. It has no implications for Ireland. Is it agreed to note this? Agreed. COM (2009) 110 is an adopted budget proposal. It is proposed to note it. Agreed. COM (2009) 150 (final) has been adopted. It is proposed to note it. Agreed.

Item 2 is proposals which require no further scrutiny. It is proposed to note the following as they do not warrant further scrutiny: COM (2009) 61 (final); and COM (2009) 94. Agreed. On COM (2009) 95, given that the Joint Committee on European Affairs is currently considering the overall issue of the EU agreement with Israel, it is proposed that this proposal does not warrant further consideration by the committee. The Joint Committee on European Scrutiny will await the outcome of the Joint Committee on European Affairs' deliberations on the broad policy implications of the EU agreement with Israel. Is that agreed? Agreed.

On COM (2009) 97, given that the proposal has no implications for Ireland, it is proposed that it does not warrant further scrutiny. Agreed. On COM (2009) 125, it is proposed that this codification proposal which would not make amendments to existing law does not warrant further scrutiny. Agreed.

On COM (2009) 131, it is recommended that this technical proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Agreed. On COM (2009) 139, given that the proposal has no direct implications for Ireland and is somewhat technical in nature, it is proposed that it does not warrant further scrutiny. Agreed.

On COM (2009) 81, it is proposed that this does not warrant further scrutiny by the committee. However, it is proposed that it be sent to the Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights and the Joint Committee on Social and Family Affairs for information. Agreed.

There are no CFSP measures. The following are Title VI (TEU) and Title IV (TEC) measures: COM (2009) 102; and COM (2009) 105. It is proposed that in light of the expectation that the Council decision on COM (2009) 102 will shortly be referred to the joint committee for scrutiny prior to the taking of the end motions by both Houses, these measures do not require further scrutiny. Agreed.

On COM (2009) 106, it is proposed that this Title IV measure does not warrant further scrutiny by the committee but should be sent to the Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights for information, particularly as the eventual opt-in motions are likely to be referred directly to the committee. Agreed.

The following are early warning notes: EWN L 94/48. Given that there are no reported difficulties, it is proposed that it does not warrant further scrutiny. Agreed. On EWN L 97/17, given that there are no reported difficulties, it is proposed it does not warrant further scrutiny. Agreed.

There are no proposals proposed for further scrutiny. There are also no proposals proposed to be forwarded to sectoral committees for observations or detailed scrutiny.
