Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals.

We have a number of proposals before the committee for consideration. Based on information provided it is proposed that COM (2009) 658 and COM (2010) 5 do not warrant further consideration. Is that agreed? Agreed. It is proposed that the following are sent to sectoral committees for information: COM (2008) 861 and COM (2008) 863. It is proposed that these do not warrant further scrutiny based on information available. It is proposed that they be sent to the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs in advance of a motion being put before the Dáil to approve the terms of the agreement. Is that agreed? Agreed.

On COM (2009) 154, based on information available and the fact that Ireland has chosen not to opt into the measure at this stage, it is proposed that the measure does not warrant further scrutiny by this committee. It is proposed to further the measure to the Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights for information. Is that agreed? Agreed.

On COM (2009) 611, based on information available it is proposed that the measure does not warrant further scrutiny by this committee. It is proposed to further the measure to the Joint Committee on Transport for information.

The joint committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m. until Tuesday, 23 March 2010.
