Apologies have been received from Senator Jim Higgins. I take this opportunity on behalf of members to offer our sincere condolences to Senator Higgins on the recent death of his mother.

With the agreement of the committee I propose to hear the presentation by the Ombudsman and the Revenue Commissioners first, following which we can proceed with the remainder of the business of the committee. Is that agreed? Agreed.
