There is a letter dated 15 June 2009 from the clerk to the Joint Committee on European Affairs to the clerk of this committee. Enclosed is correspondence from Mr. Colin Roche, policy and advocacy co-ordinator at Oxfam Ireland, wherein he expresses his concern at recent cuts in the overseas development aid budget. The Joint Committee on European Affairs agreed that it would be more appropriate for the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs Sub-Committee on Overseas Development to address the issues raised. If members agree, I propose to invite Oxfam to a meeting of the sub-committee after the summer recess.
