Business of Joint Committee

I welcome our visitors to the Gallery, in particular, our special guests who are here with Senator Malcolm Noonan, his interns.

(Interruptions).

What did I say?

Malcolm Noonan. I am well used to it.

We wish it was Deputy Malcolm Noonan.

Senator Malcolm Byrne has Matthew McGrath, Reuban Murray and James Cleary with him. They are all very welcome, as are Adam and Alan and everyone who is in the Gallery.

I congratulate Deputy Dillon who has been a member of this committee for the past few years and who, I am ably informed, has been elevated to the post of Minister of State in the Department of housing. I congratulate the Minister of State, Deputy Dillon. I am sure a replacement will be sent to the committee in the coming weeks. We wish him well in his new role.

Apologies have been received from Deputy Munster. No one is substituting for her.

We will begin with the approval of the minutes of our last meeting. We have committee business to dispose of before we hear the opening statements. Can I take it the draft minutes of our meeting on 14 February 2024 are formally agreed and that there are no matters arising? Is that agreed? Agreed.
