PAPERS LAID ON THE TABLE.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I should like to mention that under numerous regulations and sections of different Acts of Parliament that have been passed, certain Orders and other documents have to be laid for a certain number of days on the Table of this House. Up to the present we have only been supplied with a few of these Orders in each case and after these have been laid on the Table of the House, they have attracted the interest of one Senator or another, who not unnaturally takes them away for the purpose of studying their contents, and the result is that they cease to be laid on the Table of the House during the required statutory period. I propose to-day to ask members kindly not to take away these documents from the Table of the House. I shall endeavour to have extra copies supplied, and they will be left in the room outside so that any member interested in getting a copy of a particular document can get it either outside or by applying in the Clerk's office.
