Vol. 7 No. 7

MOTION BY SENATOR FITZGERALD.

CATHAOIRLEACH

Perhaps I should mention with reference to a motion by Senator Fitzgerald a matter which occurred in your absence, Senator Fitzgerald. In your absence Senator Douglas called attention to it and indicated that it should be taken at the earliest possible moment consistent with the Rules, particularly in view of the nature of the motion and the fact that two members of the Executive Council were anxious to attend when it was being discussed. Accordingly I suggested that if we meet to-morrow it should be taken to-morrow, but I understand from you that there are reasons connected with your own health which make to-morrow unsuitable for you. I mentioned the matter to Senator Douglas, and although he is very naturally anxious to dispose of the matter at the earliest possible moment, I could not, in view of your personal incapacity, press it and so it will appear on the agenda for Wednesday next. It will have to be taken at some hour convenient to the two Ministers concerned.

It can be taken at any time at all which suits on that day.

The Seanad went into Committee.
