Vol. 8 No. 16

ORDER OF BUSINESS.

I was asked to mention to the Seanad that Mr. O'Higgins and Mr. McGilligan will be in London on Tuesday on public business, and it may not be possible for them to get back in time to attend the Seanad on Wednesday. I understand that the Bills before the Seanad in the ordinary way are ones in which they are interested, and I was asked to suggest that if it were convenient to the Seanad they might meet on Thursday, rather than on Wednesday.

CATHAOIRLEACH

I do not think that that will inconvenience the House. There was another consideration that might influence them in that regard. I understand the Intoxicating Liquor Bill will be ready for Second Reading next week. If we arrange to sit on Thursday we shall then have both Thursday and Friday. I think it will be an advantage to have these two days together, and possibly by sitting on Thursday and Friday we may be in a position to adjourn over Easter. Meanwhile, if there is no objection on the part of the House, I shall arrange that the adjournment shall be until Thursday next, at 3 o'clock.

Agreed.
