Vol. 8 No. 21

BUSINESS FOR NEXT SITTING.

I beg to give notice that on the resumed debate on Report Stage of the Industrial and Commercial Property Bill I shall move to re-commit the Bill for the purpose of some amendments that I have put down.

CATHAOIRLEACH

The Seanad will meet again on Wednesday next as usual. We will then first take the Barrow Drainage Bill in Committee, and then the continuation of Report Stage of the Industrial and Commercial Property Bill. We went through the Report Stage of that Bill, it will be remembered, very fully, but subsequently the Minister announced that as a result of certain inquiries he had made, there were one or two additional amendments that he thought would be necessary. As a matter of fact, he tabled about twenty further amendments, but they are not controversial matters, and were not the subject of amendment in the Committee Stage. They deal with matters that were discovered desirable for the purpose of improving the general character of the Bill. Therefore, I think we might safely take it on Wednesday.

The Bill comes up on adjourned Report Stage?

CATHAOIRLEACH

Yes. There is another Bill that will be available for Committee Stage. I think it is a Bill in which a good deal of interest is taken by the House generally. That is the Railway Roads Motor Services, and it might be desirable to take the Committee Stage of that on Thursday. Then, possibly we may have the Electricity Bill ready for Second Stage on Thursday also, and that would be our programme for that day. I do not mention the formal stages of Bills only waiting to be read a Fifth Time. There are three or four of these, but they will not take any time.

The Seanad adjourned at 7.20 p.m. until Wednesday, May 4th.
