DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS (BRIDGE) BILL, 1927. - MESSAGE FROM THE DÁIL.

CATHAOIRLEACH

Dáil Eireann has passed the following resolution:—

"That the Dáil concur with the Seanad in their Resolution communicated to the Dáil the 24th day of February, 1927, that it is expedient that a Joint Committee of both Houses be appointed to consider the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridge) Bill, 1927."

It is the desire of the promoters not to have their Bill considered by a Committee at this period, as the Bill may have to undergo some alterations. I would therefore ask the Seanad to postpone the motion standing in my name—"That the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridge) Bill, 1927, be referred to a Joint Committee of both Houses"—for a month, and in the meantime a motion of a general character will be put down to enable the promoters of Private Bills, initiated in the present session, to suspend further proceedings on their Bills in this session and to proceed with them in the next session. It is essential, because a new Bill will probably have to be prepared in this instance.

Ordered—That the motion of the Leas-Chathaoirleach be adjourned for a month.
