The question of the seating in the Seanad has now become a matter of some difficulty owing to the alterations in the membership of the Seanad at the last triennial election. I would suggest to the Seanad that the matter should be referred to the Committee on Procedure. Senators will realise that it may be necessary in some cases to ask them to give up the seats in which they had been sitting and to take other seats.
If the Seanad agrees to referring the whole matter of seating to the Committee on Procedure, I shall summon that Committee to meet in my room at 2.15 p.m. to-morrow. The members of the Committee will please note this. Is that agreed?
