Senators will notice on the Order Paper the following resolution which was passed by the Dáil:—
"That it is expedient that a Joint Committee of the Dáil and the Seanad be set up to consider and report on the question of the amount of the allowance which should be paid to members of Seanad Eireann;
That seven Deputies represent the Dáil on the said Joint Committee."
The resolution is of very considerable importance to the Seanad, and I think, at a late hour on Friday afternoon, when many members have gone home, we ought not to discuss the matter. With the permission of the Seanad I will put it down for consideration on the next day on which the House meets.
