Wednesday, 1 May 1929

Vol. 12 No. 6

Business of the Seanad.

Cathaoirleach

The Superannuation and Pensions Bill, the Second Stage of which is down for to-day, must be passed by to-morrow week at the latest. I do not suppose that it is contentious, so that perhaps we could take it this evening.

It is a matter that would need to be discussed.

Cathaoirleach

Then it cannot be taken now. That will probably necessitate, at a later stage, the suspension of the Standing Orders for the consideration of the remaining stages of the Bill on the one day. Then there is the matter of the Resolution from the Dáil agreeing with the Resolution of the Seanad for the appointment of a Committee to deal with the remuneration of Ministers and the allowance, payable to the members of the Dáil and the Seanad. I take it that you agree to having the matter referred to the Committee of Selection.

Agreed.

The Seanad adjourned at 7.55 p.m. to Thursday, 2nd May.
