I move:—"That the Standing Orders be suspended for the purpose of enabling the remaining stage of the Shop Hours (Drapery Trades, Dublin and Districts) Bill, 1930, to be taken today."
Public Business. - Shop Hours (Drapery Trades, Dublin and Districts) Bill, 1930—Report and Final Stages.
Fourth Stage agreed to.
I beg to second the motion.
Question put and agreed to.
I move that the Bill do now pass. The only thing I want to say is that a circular was sent to members of this House in regard to this Bill which was liable to be misleading. I do not think it misled any Senators, but it might mislead people outside. The circular said that this Bill which was being extended was a Bill previously introduced by me and very much objected to. That is not the case at all. This Bill which is being extended is a Bill that was introduced in the Dáil and was the result of a considerable amount of compromise. I only want to make that clear, because otherwise people might have been misled in regard to it.
