Vol. 13 No. 25

Order of Business.

Cathaoirleach

Senators will observe that a great many Bills appear on the Order Paper to-day, and this is due, no doubt, to the fact that the Dáil is shortly about to adjourn for the Summer Recess. I suggest to the House that we should proceed to-day with the business in order as printed until there is a general desire to adjourn. To-morrow I propose to ask the House to commence at 3 o'clock with Senator Milroy's motion (which I do not think will take very long), followed by the Report of the Committee on Procedure. If there is any time available when these items have been finished, we can continue consideration of Bills. If it becomes desirable for the House to meet on Friday I understand that a notice of motion has been handed in to suspend the Standing Orders to enable the House to meet at 11.30 a.m. on that day. Perhaps I should add that I have been requested by the Minister for Finance to postpone the consideration of the Finance Bill until to-morrow, as he will be unable to be present to-day.
